This website and/or web-application (collectively referred to as “Site”) is operated by Truthought LLC. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website or in the website-application.
1. What Information Do We Collect and What Do We Do With It?
We collect information in a few different ways. To create an account, we require certain personal information be provided by you. When you journal, enter answers to exercises, and are active in posting comments in group discussions in your account you may choose to share certain personal information with your group leader and group members. In addition, when you create a paid account, we collect personal information required for payment. When you provide us with your personal information you are opting in to receiving information from your group leader and other group members, as well as information regarding our service, new services or products, newsletters and other updates from us. We do not give your information to third parties for marketing purposes. You may opt out from receiving communications from us at any time. If you opt out, it may prevent us from providing you with the requested services. You may not opt out of receiving information from your group leader or group.
We also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
We may also send you emails to inform you of new products, services or other information that may be of interest. If you do not wish to receive marketing emails, you may adjust your Account Settings. Please note that we will continue to send essential notifications such as billing, purchase receipts, and reset password requests.
2. Disclosure.
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
3. Payment.
Your payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. Direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
4. Third Party Services.
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand how your personal information will be handled by these providers. Some providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located. As an example, if you are located in, Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act. Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.
5. Security.
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
6. Cookies.
We use cookies to help us manage your experience on our site. We may use cookies to assist with facilitating visitor use of the website and to improve the website. A visitor should be able to adjust his/her/its browser to prevent cookies. However, if all cookies are blocked this may impede the visitor’s ability to access portions of the website.
Web page access may be recorded in a log file.
